In 2012 I began acquiring for Tor Teen and my talented list includes A. J. Hartley (winner of the Thriller Award for YA for Steeplejack), Marie Miranda Cruz (of the critically-acclaimed Everlasting Nora), Kari Mareen (finalist for the Andre Norton Award for YA for Weave a Circle Round) and Bethany C. Morrow (A Song Below Water, forthcoming). Top on my acquisition priority list are multicultural narratives with authentic characters that portray experiences across race, gender, culture, sexual orientation, and class; I’m especially interested in supporting marginalized authors. Having lived in Moscow, I also have a soft spot for Russian culture.
