Tor Teen Reader of the Month! 2018

Reader of the Month text, stack of books

“What a miracle it is that out of these small, flat, rigid squares of paper unfolds world after world after world, worlds that sing to you, comfort and quiet or excite you.” —Anne Lamott

It’s that time again! We’re gearing up for a glorious fall of reading indoors and this month’s reader of the month is an expert at mastering the fall aesthetic. We know readers are often solitary creatures, but we love our Tor Teen readers and want to share their dazzling photos, videos, and reviews with you!

In August, we chatted with Danny of @thebookorder and this month we’re getting to know super-reader and bookstagrammer Kristen of My Friends Are Fiction.

What they’re all about:

What got you into Bookstagram?
I have been active on bookstagram for a little over 2 years. I had been active on Twitter and my blog but I have always loved photography. It occurred to me to mesh my two loves and my bookstagram account was born. My best friend (@darkfaerietales_) and I started around this same time and really inspire one another. We also started the IG tour company Storygram Tours.

What was your favorite book at 15?
At 15 I read all fantasy. The Dragonlance series was my very favorite!

What’s one YA trope you can’t get enough of?
I will forever love the enemies to lovers trope!! I love seeing two people go from loathing one another to a new understanding and respect.

What Tor Teen release are you most excited for this year?
For Tor releases I am so excited the The Darkest Star by JLA and Rage (Roar book 2) though it is a 2019 release.
