The main character is a teen sleuth who carries a fingerprint kit in her makeup bag. Thumb prints can be incriminating or delicious. Sometimes both.

Recommendation: Vassa in the Night by Sarah Porter
Only sort of a cookie, but while reading a book about a girl stuck in a monstrous convenience store, eating something homemade would just feel wrong.
Macarons!
Recommendation: Heartless by Marissa Meyer
Honestly, this book makes me want to eat all of the baked things, since the main character’s dream is to open her own bakery. The only cookies she makes are rose macarons, but you could also pair this with lemon crinkle cookies since in the opening scene she makes lemon tarts that sound like the most delicious things ever.
Jim Dandy Cookies!
Recommendation: My New Crush Gave to Me by Shani Petroff
The main character and her friend make old fashioned Jim Dandy cookies to win her crush’s heart in a Secret Santa matchmaking plan. This book is full of Christmas cookies since the main character and her best friend are trying to start a baking business, so eating ALL THE COOKIES is also appropriate.
