For today’s #shelfiesunday post I thought I’d feature #prettyboymustdie by Kimberly Reid that I recently receive from @torteen — if you use your imagination, it’s like he’s running away to hide in the shelves! . . Question: would you ever want to go viral in some capacity or do you think it would become overwhelming? . . . ⚜️⚜️SUMMARY⚜️⚜️ . A CIA prodigy's cover is blown when he accidentally becomes an internet sensation in #Prettyboy Must Die, Kimberly Reid's fun, fast thriller inspired by the #Alexfromtarget story. . . When Peter Smith’s classmate snaps a picture of him during a late night run at the track, Peter thinks he might be in trouble. When she posts that photo―along with the caption, “See the Pretty Boy Run,”―Peter knows he’s in trouble. But when hostiles drop through the ceiling of his 6th period Chem Class, Peter’s pretty sure his trouble just became a national emergency. . . Because he’s not really Peter Smith. He’s Jake Morrow, former foster-kid turned CIA operative. After a massive screw-up on his first mission, he's on a pity assignment, a dozen hit lists and now, social media, apparently. As #Prettyboy, of all freaking things. . . His cover’s blown, his school’s under siege, and if he screws up now, #Prettyboy will become #Deadboy faster than you can say, 'fifteen minutes of fame.' Trapped in a high school with rabid killers and rabid fans, he’ll need all his training and then some to save his job, his school and, oh yeah, his life. . . . #shelfie #torteen #bookstagram #bookish #bookshelf #bookshelfie #shelf #shelfiegoals #booknerd #igreads #amreading #booklover #bookaddict @kimberlyreidYA

Thank you so much to @scarbo_author and @torteen for sending me an ARC of one of my most anticipated 2018 releases—To Right The Wrongs, the sequel to To Catch a Killer! It came with the most beautiful card and even a trackable bookmark, how cool is that? – If you haven’t already read To Catch a Killer you need to get onto it ASAP! Synopsis: A teenage girl uses forensic science to solve the cold-case murder of her mother. Erin Blake has one of those names. A name that is inextricably linked to a grisly crime. As a toddler, Erin survived for three days alongside the corpse of her murdered mother, and the case—which remains unsolved—fascinated a nation. Her father's identity unknown, Erin was taken in by her mother's best friend and has become a relatively normal teen in spite of the looming questions about her past. Fourteen years later, Erin is once again at the center of a brutal homicide when she finds the body of her biology teacher. When questioned by the police, Erin tells almost the whole truth, but never voices her suspicions that her mother's killer has struck again in order to protect the casework she's secretly doing on her own. Inspired by her uncle, an FBI agent, Erin has ramped up her forensic hobby into a full-blown cold-case investigation. This new murder makes her certain she's close to the truth, but when all the evidence starts to point the authorities straight to Erin, she turns to her longtime crush (and fellow suspect) Journey Michaels to help her crack the case before it's too late. – qotd: a sequel you’re most excited for this year?

“Sometimes justice was all about the small victories.” ~ Susan Dennard, Truthwitch • Hello bookdragons! 🐲 • I’m sorry I’m so terrible at this whole bookstagramming thing! I just got so busy and I forgot to post! • I am here on this Monday with my cat and my books! (Trust me, he does have a tail 😝). Pretty much the only two things I need in life. Oh, yeah, I’m also here with a Weekly Reading Update. 🙂 • I am currently reading three books because I am a crazy person! I actually do not have time for this. But anyways, I am reading Royal Bastards by Andrew Shvarts, Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, and The Arsonist by Stephanie Oakes. • Royal Bastards: page 191 of 346 I am really loving this book! It might just be a 2018 favourite! I find it to be quite unique and I just love the entire premise! • Frankenstein: page 59 of 207 I am the slowest reader when it comes to classics. I’m not one of those people that can zip through them. I am really liking where this one is going. I just really want to see why this story is so famous! • The Arsonist: page 137 of 493 This book is actually disappointing me somewhat. After Stephanie Oakes’s first novel, it is not what I expected. It’s still intriguing me, but I hope it gets better. • Here’s to another great reading week, bookdragons! • • • 📚 Hey! Welcome to my bookstagram account!
